Lighting that used LED Technology is the most efficient light so far
It enables us to save energy up to 90% over incandescent and halogen lamp. For fluorescent and HID lamp, LED lamp can achieve the saving up to 80%.
Normal LED life span is known to be about 100,000 hours but for Lighting class LED, the life span is known to be around 50,000 to 75,000 hours.
So compared with incandescent lamp which is less than 500 hours, halogen lamp less than 2000 hours and fluorescent lamp between 5000 to 10,000 hours, LED Lamp lasts 100 times longer than incandescent lamp, 25 times longer than halogen lamp and 5 to 10 times longer than fluorescent lamp. That means, it is something like maintenance free which save maintenance cost on labour and parts.
Finally, it produces less heat thus save air-conditioner energy.
Other benefits include, fast turn-on and can be made easily to be compatible with other energy saving technology without sacrificing the lighting life span especially vulnerable to fluorescent lighting and impossible for HID Lighting.
On safety and environment aspect, LED is still the best.
